Red Seal Chef & Life Time Acheivment Award Winner Don Guthro, born and raised in rural Canada, received his Chef training at George Brown College in Ontario. Working throughout France and Italy, he learned the trade and traditions from old-world culinary pioneers. Don’s cooking was experienced by Canada’s top restaurants and at Olympic Games. He formed a catering company and restaurant consulting firm, and later became the director of a renowned local and international culinary school in Vancouver. Chef Don Guthro now ponders social enterprise as the vehicle to educate Canada’s top cooks, due to the high cost of culinary tuition, lack of affordable housing and skilled entry-level cooks in the area.

Hayley Adam

Instructor
Hayley is a British Columbian culinary school graduate who worked for a local caterer before finding a job at a famous fishing lodge in Haida Gwaii. While working there, she decided to pursue her career further. She gained more culinary industry experience before studying at Langara College and Simon Fraser University where she earned a degree in education. Hayley now works as head instructor at D.I.C.E.D Culinary School.
